2021 Scholarship Recipients

On May 21, 2021 we selected two more worthy recipients of the Griffin Moody Scholarship.  As is the case each year, we are proud and excited to announce that Katherine-Anne Davis and Nathan McGinnis are our two deserving seniors this year.  As we do each year, we narrowed the field of applicants down to eight finalists, and then interviewed each of them to select our two winners.  All finalists were very accomplished and will surely do great things with their lives, but we felt Katherine-Anne and Nathan personified all the characteristics that we look for.  We know Griffin would be pleased with our choices.

Katherine-Anne Davis

Katherine-Anne had a very accomplished career at Nease.  She was involved in the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, the National Honor Society, Track & Field  team, Link Crew, and was the Nease Instagram manager.  She was also captain of the Nease Cheerleading team, Student Body President, and Miss Nease in 2020.  KA was also very involved in charity work, including many local volunteer activities, and several mission trips to Haiti and Mexico.

Katherine-Anne will be attending Auburn University, pursuing degrees in Environmental Sustainability and Apparel Merchandising.

Nathan McGinnis

Nathan was also very accomplished at Nease, and in life.   He was in Mu Alpha Theta, Hi-Q, and the National Honor Society.  Nathan was in the IB program at Nease as well as the Stellar Academy of Engineering.  Nathan began participating in Boy Scouts in 2014 and progressed over the years, finally culminating in his becoming Eagle Scout in July of 2020.

Nathan will be attending the University of Florida in the fall, where he will be pursuing a degree in Civil Engineering.
